Mourning Langford 78F Sewing Virginia [I got the impression that all of Thomas Langford and Elisabeth (Brooks) children had the name Brooks, on transcribing this census, but note that a transcription by Robert E. Lane of the Orange County 1860 Census (see below) names them all as “Langfords.” (see Thomas’ wife Elizabeth’s notes for explanation of this confusion–shb.] [Note: I see, now, that in the 1870 Census, Thomas’ surname is given as “Brooks”–was “Langford” his middle name? Also, in 1870, “Malinda F.” is called “Frances, age 22–shb.]
