Making Sense of the Census (Fording the Langs, at Present)

Richard Lankford (b. 1810, m. Mary __), of Hart, Warrick, Indiana

ANOTHER “RICHARD LANGFORD” IN HART, WARRICK, INDIANA: See my Legacy ID 66587, “Ricjard S. Langford,” who is also married to a “Mary,” but this Richard is age 68 in 1900, with parents listed as born in New York (father) and West Virginia (mother). This Richard named a son “Joseph W.,” (for “Joseph Walker” Langford? His 1900 Census birth date could fit him into my ancestor Joseph Langford’s family, which sent me searching for other Richards in Indiana and produced this family from England that is in the same town, but the information doesn’t seem to link).

1860 CENSUS–“RICHARD LANKFORD” [my ID 67438] IS AGE FIFTY, BORN IN ENGLAND, LIVING WITH WIFE “MARY,” ALSO BORN IN ENGLAND, AND THREE CHILDREN, IN HART, WARRICK, INDIANA. HeritageQuest on-line image, accessed and transcribed, 18 May 2006, by shb, via Provo, Utah Public Library:
